Dead Trees

There are a number of dead trees in our neighborhood.

If you have a tree on your property that you want to remove, you need to contact the HOA, Ron Byrd and the City of Charleston for approval. This includes trees that may be a threat to your property. Please take a look at Section 7.14 of the Mt. Royall & Harrington Place Covenants and Restrictions that addresses tree removal.

Section 7.14. Tree Removal. No trees or bushes of any kind having a diameter of six (6") inches or more (measured from a point two (2') feet above the ground level) shall be removed from any Lot without the express written authorization of the Architectural Control Committee. All Lots and Common Areas shall be subject to the Tree Protection Requirements of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Charleston. Authorization by The Architectural Control Committee shall not exempt an Owner from compliance with the Tree Protection Ordinance of the City of Charleston.

If the tree is on city property, contact Danny Burbage of the Forestry Division of the City of Charleston at 724-7416.
If the tree is in a wetland area it may be the responsibility of another department but Danny Burbage can still help determine who to call.
If the tree is on your own property , contact the HOA and a Tree Removal Service.
If the tree is on HOA property, contact Debbie Inman of Capital Group at Ph. 529-9690. FAX 529-9756.
